Talk It Out …

This is the advice Mr. Viveck Kantawla is giving out to Mumbai’s Residents and people all around the globe to opt for the “talk therapy” to get through their problems.

Out of many therapies those usually counsellors choose to use when it comes to treating the troubled and the disturbed, the “talk therapy” is considered to be one of the most used and successful. It has also been sicentifically proven that it works very well with all genders and for all ages begning from toddlers to the young and to the old.

According to Mr. Viveck Kantawla, this therapy helps to understand the feelings of the counsellee accurately and makes it easy for the counsellee to speak it out. The counselee does not by any chance feel neglected, in fact they feel accepted and not judged by the counsellorsor / therapist because the counsellor / therapist provides unconditional support and a positive regard towards them which helps the person to remove negative ideas and thoughts or to cause harm to themselves.

The therapy ….

It is a term used for treating all sorts of issues be it dealing with loss of near and dear ones to internal indecisiveness, family issues to professional issues, anxiety, depression and all other forms of problems. It is a comprehensive approach to psychological treatment that deals not only with the emotional and behavioural aspects of human disturbance, but places a great deal of focus on its thinking component.

“Talk Therapy” helps those with acute emotional distress to voice themselves and to release their pain and agony. It may not take one’s problems away completely, but it will lessen the pain and will make him / her feel happy and positive about one’self and his or hers surroundings.

Process …

I usually prefer it on a “one to one” session with the counsellee, but then depending on the kind of problem one has, sessions are also held in groups or with couples. This is another form of relationship counselling.

Gains ….

The “Talk Therapy” is a kind of counselling which is used to treat internal, external, physical, mental, emotional, professional and also psychological problems. A good session usually in most cases gains the counsellee an immediate boost in morale and helps regain self confidence almost instantly. It has helped drastically people with any physical ailments or disabilities too (i.e people suffering from diabetes, heart disease or from any physical problems especially when people feel demotivated and depressed about their aliments. It is also used for making the counsellee understand his or her shortcomings and disadvantages which in turn helps them in working towards the drawbacks and lead a healthy and stress free life.

For senior citizens …

This therapy does wonders for ‘senior citizens’. If one is going through financial crisis or has lost his or her spouse or has retired and feels lonely on most occasions, one can talk to the counsellors or / therapist and find ways to lead their lives happily.

Marriage or relationship problems …

Even the law suggests to meet a counsellor in case of disturbed marriages, hence couple counselling is considered to be a ‘marriage saver’. Having a unbiased counsellor / therapist as a mediator helps one understand each other in a better manner without forming any preconceived thoughts and ideas.

Family issues …

“Talk therapy” has helped across the globe people solve their family issues, differences and disputes. During such therapies, the entire family can discuss their issues together. Such talk conversations have also helped the counsellorsor / therapist solve cases of children with depression and behavioural problems, it also helps one to understand his / her own family members better and work towards living peacefully with one another.

Anger management …

At times due to unavoidable circumstances many people have uncontrollable nature of anger, here the “talk therapy” is the best as it lets a person to vent out anger and pain by discussing the issues with the therapist / counsellorsor and also figure out ways to handle it without taking any sort of medication.
